# Tiger Algebra Solver vs MathPapa

The clearest difference is ads: MathPapa at none against Tiger Algebra Solver's shown. MathPapa also leads on ratings volume (17K vs 114) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Tiger Algebra Solver's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tiger Algebra Solver sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and MathPapa sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Tiger Algebra Solver against 4.7 for MathPapa. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MathPapa has 17K ratings behind it against 114, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of Tiger Algebra Solver's written reviews are positive against 78% of MathPapa's.

Tiger Algebra Solver ships an update every 3 months, MathPapa every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
