# Brilliant vs WitBlox

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WitBlox at none against Brilliant's 10. WitBlox also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Brilliant's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 16 months) and ratings volume (33K vs 3). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brilliant sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. WitBlox asks for nothing beyond the download.

WitBlox holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brilliant has 33K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Brilliant's written reviews are positive against 71% of WitBlox's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brilliant ships an update weekly, WitBlox every 16 months. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
