# Leanpub vs Kortext

The clearest difference is rating: Leanpub at 5.0 against Kortext's 3.9. Kortext's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 1) and chart position (#98 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Leanpub holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kortext has 1.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Leanpub's written reviews are positive against 17% of Kortext's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Leanpub ships an update monthly, Kortext every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
