# Leanpub vs ReadAnywhere

The clearest difference is rating: Leanpub at 5.0 against ReadAnywhere's 4.6. ReadAnywhere's advantage is ratings volume (10K vs 1) and chart position (#52 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Leanpub holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ReadAnywhere has 10K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Leanpub's written reviews are positive against 16% of ReadAnywhere's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Leanpub ships an update monthly, ReadAnywhere every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
