# HiCal vs Weekly Planner

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: HiCal at none against Weekly Planner's 11. HiCal also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Weekly Planner's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 23) and review sentiment (70% vs 55%). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Weekly Planner sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. HiCal asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for HiCal against 4.7 for Weekly Planner. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Weekly Planner has 15K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 55% of HiCal's written reviews are positive against 70% of Weekly Planner's.

HiCal ships an update every 2 months, Weekly Planner every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 7, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
