# Simple Weather Widget vs Weather

The clearest difference is rating: Weather at 3.3 against Simple Weather Widget's 2.8. Simple Weather Widget's advantage is review sentiment (46% vs 30%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 11.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Weather Widget sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 6 months and Weather sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Weather holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 2.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 26 and 10 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Simple Weather Widget's written reviews are positive against 30% of Weather's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Simple Weather Widget ships an update every 6 weeks, Weather every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
