# Pryvate vs RueChat

The clearest difference is rating: Pryvate at 4.3 against RueChat's 3.8. Pryvate also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (72 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pryvate sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year and RueChat sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pryvate holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pryvate has 72 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Pryvate's written reviews are positive against 73% of RueChat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pryvate ships an update fortnightly, RueChat every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
