# mazec vs Handwriting Keyboard

The clearest difference is rating: mazec at 5.0 against Handwriting Keyboard's 4.0. mazec also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.6). Handwriting Keyboard's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

mazec costs $8.99 and Handwriting Keyboard $3.99 up front. mazec sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Handwriting Keyboard asks for nothing beyond the download.

mazec holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Handwriting Keyboard has 96 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of mazec's written reviews are positive against 64% of Handwriting Keyboard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

mazec ships an update every 4 months, Handwriting Keyboard every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
