# Gumroad vs Payhip

The clearest difference is rating: Gumroad at 4.7 against Payhip's 2.0. Gumroad also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly) and ratings volume (37K vs 40). Payhip's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 36). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gumroad sells 31 one-off in-app purchases. Payhip asks for nothing beyond the download.

Gumroad holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gumroad has 37K ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 27% of Gumroad's written reviews are positive against 14% of Payhip's.

Gumroad ships an update every 2 days, Payhip monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
