# Skillshare vs MZed

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Skillshare at 25K against MZed's 8. Skillshare also leads on chart position (#200 vs unranked). MZed's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 62%) and iOS requirement (12.2 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skillshare sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $18.99 per month and MZed sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $299.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Skillshare holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skillshare has 25K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Skillshare's written reviews are positive against 75% of MZed's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Skillshare ships an update every 10 days, MZed weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
