# Skillshare vs Study.Buddies

Skillshare and Study.Buddies both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Study.Buddies's written reviews are positive against 62% of Skillshare's. Study.Buddies also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium). Skillshare's advantage is ratings volume (25K vs 2) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skillshare sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $18.99 per month and Study.Buddies sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Study.Buddies holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skillshare has 25K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 62% of Skillshare's written reviews are positive against 100% of Study.Buddies's.

Skillshare ships an update every 10 days, Study.Buddies every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
