# Flows vs Text App

The clearest difference is rating: Text App at 4.6 against Flows's 2.4. Text App also leads on ratings volume (9.6K vs 5) and chart position (#190 vs unranked). Flows's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 34%) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text App sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Flows asks for nothing beyond the download.

Text App holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text App has 9.6K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Flows's written reviews are positive against 34% of Text App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flows ships an update every 3 months, Text App every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
