# Sync vs Dropbox EMM

The clearest difference is rating: Dropbox EMM at 4.8 against Sync's 4.2. Dropbox EMM also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Sync's advantage is review sentiment (51% vs 14%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Dropbox EMM holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 821 and 388 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Sync's written reviews are positive against 14% of Dropbox EMM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sync ships an update monthly, Dropbox EMM fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
