# Countdown Widget vs Countdown Timer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Countdown Timer at none against Countdown Widget's 6. Countdown Timer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). Countdown Widget's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (9.5K vs 1.2K). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown Widget sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Countdown Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Countdown Widget against 4.8 for Countdown Timer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown Widget has 9.5K ratings behind it against 1.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of Countdown Widget's written reviews are positive against 85% of Countdown Timer's.

Countdown Widget ships an update every 2 weeks, Countdown Timer every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
