# Countdown Widget vs DayCount

The clearest difference is monetization model: Countdown Widget at free with in-app purchases against DayCount's subscription. Countdown Widget also leads on review sentiment (78% vs 47%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). DayCount's advantage is ads (none vs shown). Both are free to download. Countdown Widget sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and DayCount sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Countdown Widget against 4.7 for DayCount. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9.5K and 26K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of Countdown Widget's written reviews are positive against 47% of DayCount's.
