# FluentU vs Langotalk

The clearest difference is rating: Langotalk at 4.6 against FluentU's 4.3. FluentU's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 47%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FluentU sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month and Langotalk sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Langotalk holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.8K and 1.1K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of FluentU's written reviews are positive against 47% of Langotalk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FluentU ships an update fortnightly, Langotalk every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
