# Auguscope vs DS

The clearest difference is rating: Auguscope at 3.8 against DS's 2.1. Auguscope also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 17%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). DS's advantage is ratings volume (26 vs 4) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Auguscope holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DS has 26 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Auguscope's written reviews are positive against 17% of DS's.

Auguscope ships an update every 3 weeks, DS every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
