# Shell Game vs Crazy Eights

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Shell Game at 100% against Crazy Eights's 50%. Shell Game also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). Crazy Eights's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (23K vs 5). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shell Game sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Crazy Eights sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Crazy Eights holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crazy Eights has 23K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Shell Game's written reviews are positive against 50% of Crazy Eights's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shell Game ships an update every 3 months, Crazy Eights every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
