# mewe vs Wavepoint

The clearest difference is ads: mewe at none against Wavepoint's shown. mewe also leads on ratings volume (294K vs 8). Wavepoint's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. mewe sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Wavepoint sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for mewe against 4.5 for Wavepoint. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: mewe has 294K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two.

mewe ships an update every 8 days, Wavepoint every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
