# AITSO vs CUSTOM CAST

The clearest difference is update cadence: CUSTOM CAST at every 5 weeks against AITSO's every 22 months. CUSTOM CAST also leads on ratings volume (4K vs 49). AITSO's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AITSO sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and CUSTOM CAST sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CUSTOM CAST holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CUSTOM CAST has 4K ratings behind it against 49, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of AITSO's written reviews are positive against 48% of CUSTOM CAST's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AITSO ships an update every 22 months, CUSTOM CAST every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
