# tick vs Notebook

The clearest difference is update cadence: Notebook at every 2 weeks against tick's every 34 months. tick's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. tick sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Notebook sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

tick ships an update every 34 months, Notebook every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
