# WidgetCal vs WidgetCal

The clearest difference is rating: WidgetCal at 5.0 against WidgetCal's 3.6. WidgetCal also leads on ads (none vs shown). WidgetCal's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 32 months) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WidgetCal sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and WidgetCal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WidgetCal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WidgetCal has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WidgetCal ships an update every 3 weeks, WidgetCal every 32 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
