# PC Remote vs SoundWise

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SoundWise at none against PC Remote's 8. SoundWise also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 17.6). PC Remote's advantage is rating (3.2 vs 2.9) and ratings volume (301 vs 12). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PC Remote sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. SoundWise asks for nothing beyond the download.

PC Remote holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PC Remote has 301 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of PC Remote's written reviews are positive against 40% of SoundWise's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PC Remote ships an update monthly, SoundWise every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
