# Photomath vs Pic Answer

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Photomath at 733K against Pic Answer's 3.4K. Photomath also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and chart position (#36 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Photomath sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Pic Answer sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Photomath holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Photomath has 733K ratings behind it against 3.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Photomath's written reviews are positive against 56% of Pic Answer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Photomath ships an update monthly, Pic Answer fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
