# Photomath vs ORIGEN

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ORIGEN at 100% against Photomath's 61%. ORIGEN also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Photomath's advantage is ratings volume (733K vs 2) and chart position (#39 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Photomath sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and ORIGEN sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ORIGEN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Photomath has 733K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 61% of Photomath's written reviews are positive against 100% of ORIGEN's.

Photomath ships an update monthly, ORIGEN every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
