# Countdowns vs Countdown Timer

The clearest difference is rating: Countdown Timer at 4.5 against Countdowns's 3.4. Countdown Timer also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 62) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Countdowns's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdowns sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Countdown Timer sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown Timer has 1.4K ratings behind it against 62, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 47% of Countdowns's written reviews are positive against 60% of Countdown Timer's.

Countdowns ships an update every 3 months, Countdown Timer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
