# PDF Reader Pro vs PDF Format Converter

The clearest difference is ratings volume: PDF Reader Pro at 437 against PDF Format Converter's 14. PDF Reader Pro also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Reader Pro sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $39.99 per year and PDF Format Converter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for PDF Reader Pro against 4.5 for PDF Format Converter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Reader Pro has 437 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
