# Aqua Map Boating vs WAVZ

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: WAVZ at none against Aqua Map Boating's 17. WAVZ also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Aqua Map Boating's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (14K vs 2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aqua Map Boating sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year. WAVZ asks for nothing beyond the download.

WAVZ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aqua Map Boating has 14K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Aqua Map Boating ships an update weekly, WAVZ every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
