# IndieFlix vs Darkroom Streaming

The clearest difference is rating: Darkroom Streaming at 5.0 against IndieFlix's 4.2. Darkroom Streaming also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). IndieFlix's advantage is ratings volume (51 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IndieFlix sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Darkroom Streaming sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Darkroom Streaming holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IndieFlix has 51 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 36% and 35% positive.

IndieFlix ships an update every 3 months, Darkroom Streaming every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
