# Vimcar vs identify

The clearest difference is monetization model: identify at free against Vimcar's free with in-app purchases. Vimcar's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Vimcar ships an update monthly, identify every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
