# Luminair vs MP Install

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MP Install at none against Luminair's 4. MP Install also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 14.0). Luminair's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Luminair sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. MP Install asks for nothing beyond the download.

MP Install holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Luminair has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Luminair ships an update fortnightly, MP Install every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
