# Luminair vs ShareTime

The clearest difference is monetization model: ShareTime at free with in-app purchases against Luminair's subscription. ShareTime also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Luminair's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 1). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Luminair sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and ShareTime sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ShareTime holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Luminair has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Luminair ships an update fortnightly, ShareTime every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
