# Off Book! vs Actor Trade

The clearest difference is ads: Actor Trade at none against Off Book!'s shown. Actor Trade also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Off Book! sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Actor Trade sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Actor Trade holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 38 and 28 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Off Book!'s written reviews are positive against 73% of Actor Trade's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Off Book! ships an update monthly, Actor Trade every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
