# Touch vs Typist XK

The clearest difference is monetization model: Typist XK at free against Touch's subscription. Typist XK also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Touch's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (50 vs 8). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Touch holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Touch has 50 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 59% and 58% positive.

Touch ships an update every 8 days, Typist XK every 7 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
