# Synonyms and Antonyms vs Connect Words

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Synonyms and Antonyms at 100% against Connect Words's 40%. Synonyms and Antonyms also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Connect Words's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.7) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 11 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Connect Words holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Connect Words has 52K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Synonyms and Antonyms's written reviews are positive against 40% of Connect Words's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Synonyms and Antonyms ships an update every 11 months, Connect Words every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
