# Notes Recorder vs Voice Recorder

The clearest difference is rating: Voice Recorder at 4.7 against Notes Recorder's 3.7. Voice Recorder also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (7.7K vs 3). Notes Recorder's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and review sentiment (50% vs 35%). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Voice Recorder sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Notes Recorder asks for nothing beyond the download.

Voice Recorder holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Voice Recorder has 7.7K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Notes Recorder's written reviews are positive against 35% of Voice Recorder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notes Recorder ships an update every 4 months, Voice Recorder every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
