# G vs Sama Flix

The clearest difference is rating: Sama Flix at 3.8 against G's 3.4. Sama Flix also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). G's advantage is review sentiment (30% vs 14%) and ratings volume (242 vs 20). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sama Flix holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: G has 242 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of G's written reviews are positive against 14% of Sama Flix's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

G ships an update every 3 months, Sama Flix monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
