# Course Hero vs Studocu

Course Hero and Studocu both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 48% of Studocu's written reviews are positive against 28% of Course Hero's. Studocu also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Course Hero's advantage is ratings volume (65K vs 5.8K). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Course Hero sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Studocu sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $34.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Course Hero against 4.8 for Studocu. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Course Hero has 65K ratings behind it against 5.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 28% of Course Hero's written reviews are positive against 48% of Studocu's.

Course Hero ships an update fortnightly, Studocu weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
