# Course Hero vs Mental Math Quiz

Course Hero and Mental Math Quiz both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 81% of Mental Math Quiz's written reviews are positive against 28% of Course Hero's. Mental Math Quiz also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). Course Hero's advantage is ratings volume (65K vs 700) and chart position (#102 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Course Hero sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Mental Math Quiz sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Course Hero against 4.6 for Mental Math Quiz. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Course Hero has 65K ratings behind it against 700, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 28% of Course Hero's written reviews are positive against 81% of Mental Math Quiz's.

Course Hero ships an update fortnightly, Mental Math Quiz every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
