# Course Hero vs Photo Math Solver

The clearest difference is rating: Course Hero at 4.7 against Photo Math Solver's 1.0. Course Hero also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months). Photo Math Solver's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 28%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Course Hero sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Photo Math Solver sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Course Hero holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Course Hero has 65K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of Course Hero's written reviews are positive against 67% of Photo Math Solver's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Course Hero ships an update fortnightly, Photo Math Solver every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
