# Course Hero vs Pic Answer

Course Hero and Pic Answer both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 56% of Pic Answer's written reviews are positive against 28% of Course Hero's. Pic Answer also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). Course Hero's advantage is ratings volume (65K vs 3.4K) and chart position (#109 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Course Hero sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Pic Answer sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Course Hero against 4.6 for Pic Answer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Course Hero has 65K ratings behind it against 3.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 28% of Course Hero's written reviews are positive against 56% of Pic Answer's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
