# Course Hero vs Calculus Solver

The clearest difference is rating: Course Hero at 4.7 against Calculus Solver's 4.3. Course Hero also leads on ratings volume (65K vs 4) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Course Hero sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Calculus Solver sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Course Hero holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Course Hero has 65K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Course Hero ships an update fortnightly, Calculus Solver every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
