# Tuta Mail vs Encrypted Email

Tuta Mail and Encrypted Email both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 65% of Tuta Mail's written reviews are positive against 47% of Encrypted Email's. Encrypted Email's advantage is ratings volume (50K vs 3.8K) and chart position (#69 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tuta Mail sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Encrypted Email sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Tuta Mail against 4.8 for Encrypted Email. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Encrypted Email has 50K ratings behind it against 3.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two.
