# CGTN vs Stereo 91

The clearest difference is rating: Stereo 91 at 5.0 against CGTN's 4.4. Stereo 91 also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). CGTN's advantage is ratings volume (394 vs 2) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Stereo 91 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CGTN has 394 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CGTN ships an update every 5 weeks, Stereo 91 every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
