# Musicnotes vs Practice Wheel

Musicnotes and Practice Wheel both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Practice Wheel's written reviews are positive against 55% of Musicnotes's. Practice Wheel also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). Musicnotes's advantage is ratings volume (43K vs 4) and chart position (#168 vs unranked). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Musicnotes sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per year. Practice Wheel asks for nothing beyond the download.

Practice Wheel holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Musicnotes has 43K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 55% of Musicnotes's written reviews are positive against 100% of Practice Wheel's.

Musicnotes ships an update fortnightly, Practice Wheel every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
