# Morphos vs Word Match

The clearest difference is rating: Word Match at 4.8 against Morphos's 3.8. Word Match also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (4.9K vs 16). Morphos's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (82% vs 66%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Morphos sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Word Match sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Match holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Match has 4.9K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Morphos's written reviews are positive against 66% of Word Match's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Morphos ships an update every 10 months, Word Match monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
