# Rainbow Video Effects vs StroboScope

The clearest difference is price: Rainbow Video Effects at Free against StroboScope's $4.99. Rainbow Video Effects also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 45 months) and review sentiment (63% vs 40%). StroboScope's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Rainbow Video Effects is free to download; StroboScope costs $4.99 up front. Rainbow Video Effects sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. StroboScope asks for nothing beyond the download.

StroboScope holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rainbow Video Effects has 82 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Rainbow Video Effects's written reviews are positive against 40% of StroboScope's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rainbow Video Effects ships an update every 2 months, StroboScope every 45 months. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
