# Rainbow Video Effects vs PocketBox

The clearest difference is rating: PocketBox at 4.9 against Rainbow Video Effects's 4.0. PocketBox also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). Rainbow Video Effects's advantage is ratings volume (82 vs 7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rainbow Video Effects sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and PocketBox sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PocketBox holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rainbow Video Effects has 82 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Rainbow Video Effects ships an update every 2 months, PocketBox every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
