# Rainbow Video Effects vs 28Rcam

The clearest difference is update cadence: 28Rcam at every 5 days against Rainbow Video Effects's every 2 months. Rainbow Video Effects's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rainbow Video Effects sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and 28Rcam sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Rainbow Video Effects ships an update every 2 months, 28Rcam every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
