# Wine Collection vs True Wine

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Wine Collection at none against True Wine's 2. True Wine's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and chart position (#146 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. True Wine sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Wine Collection asks for nothing beyond the download.

True Wine holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 183 and 557 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Wine Collection's written reviews are positive against 67% of True Wine's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Wine Collection ships an update every 2 weeks, True Wine monthly. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
